These pictures were taken by one of the proud grandmothers about a half hour after her birth, before Anneke had been washed (eyes had just been medicated), just before being whisked away to the neonatal intensive care unit. More and better pictures soon, hopefully.

Then surgery on Monday afternoon. And the joy of seeing Anneke coming up the hall to the Pediatric ICU from surgery. They slowed down and moved the blanket so that Mike and Rachel could see her face, but they couldn't stop.

The night Anneke was born Gideon decided that we had to sing, "Happy Birthday to Anneke."

Anneke went off the ventilator on Thursday, February 26th, but back on the next day.

Big brother loves little Anneke, and seeing her is a priority when he visits the hospital, but then the play room isn't bad either.
